Measuring Lengths and Diameters of Piercing Jewelry

How do I measure the length of my body jewelry?

The length of body jewelry is measured from the bottom to the top of the barbell; in other words length refers to the length of the part that goes through your piercing.

How do I measure the diameter of my body jewelry?

For circular or round jewelry such as hoops, rings, captives, horseshoe barbells, etc. we measure the inner diameter at the widest point of the piece, as seen in the image below.

How do I know which length or diameter is right for me?

1) If you like the way your current jewelry fits, you can measure its length or diameter to know the correct size.

2) You can visit your piercer and ask him or her what they feel is the best fit for you.
