Threadless Push Pin Jewelry is designed for those who appreciate beauty in simplicity and the ease of self-expression. With a revolutionary push pin mechanism, these pieces eliminate the hassle of traditional threading, making changing and wearing your jewelry a breeze.
What Is Threadless Piercing Jewelry?
Also known as Press fit jewelry, threadless jewelry is comprised of two parts: a post backing and a push pin end. The Threadless Post can be a flat back (aka Labret), a straight barbell or a curved barbell; the Push Pin End is the decorative charm that is inserted into the post. This type of jewelry is ideal for most piercings (earlobe, ear cartilage, nose, lip, eyebrow, and nipple).
Craftsmanship meets comfort with safe, high-quality materials:
Each design in our threadless piercing jewelry collection is a testament to the craftsmanship and attention to detail that goes into creating fine body jewelry that not only looks stunning, but also feels comfortable in your piercing. We prioritize your safety and well-being that’s why we handcraft our jewelry from 14 karat solid gold, never plated and always 100% nickel-free, which is ideal if you are sensitive to other metals; the pin post backing is made of 316 LVM stainless steel for durability when bending, ensuring not only the longevity of your jewelry but also the health of your piercings. Although not as secure as threaded jewelry, our push pin ends still provide a secure and snug fit, ensuring your jewelry stays in place without compromising on comfort.
FreshTrends Tip
If you’re inserting or switching our jewelry at home and without the help or supervision of a professional piercer, avoid doing it over the sink or bathtub. We recommend changing your threadless jewelry in a clean, secure room, so if the top or post are accidently dropped, you can easily locate it.

Picking The Right One
Nostril Piercing
Nostril piercings are pierced with an 18g (18 gauge) flat back threadless post, however, the length of the post really depends on one’s anatomy (the thickness of your nostril). Fresh piercings usually use a post that ranges from 5/16”(8mm) to 3/8”(9.5mm). Once healed it can go down to ¼”(6mm) with the charm end being at least 1.5mm or larger.
Earlobes
Professional piercers typically pierce earlobes with 18 gauge threadless (also known as Press-fit) flat back posts that are either 5/16”(8mm) or 7/16”(11mm) in length. Once your piercing has healed and swelling has gone down, you can downsize the length of the post. If your piercing is completely healed, then the standard length for a lobe piercing is ¼”(6mm) to 5/16”(8mm).
Ear Cartilage Piercings
Helix, forward helix, tragus, flat and conch piercings are also typically pierced with a 16 gauge flat back, or labret post, which is thicker than earlobe piercings. New cartilage piercings most often use ¼” (6mm) to 3/8” (9.5mm) posts. For healed ear cartilage piercings choose threadless posts that are 16G 3/16” (5mm) or ¼” (6mm). Some cartilage piercings may need an 18g thick post; if you are uncertain contact your piercer to confirm. If your piercing is still healing and you want to change out the decorative end, then choose an end that is smooth (like a ball, dome, or bezel-set gemstone) with a charm size that is approximately 2.5mm or larger.
Lip Piercings
Although sometimes lip piercings may be pierced with a 16-gauge threadless post, most professional piercers prefer to use 14 gauge. Most healed labret piercings fit 14g, 5/16” – 3/8” (8mm-9.5mm) backings. If you wish to replace the charm end of your piercing while it is still healing, pick one that is smooth (such as a ball, dome, or bezel-set gemstone) and has a charm size of at least 3mm.
